We are at Glow Organic!
I am so excited to introduce you to one of our latest stockists – Glow Organic! Their gorgeous organic and natural online beauty business is based in Brighton, a seaside of England.
Glow Organic is on the mission to encourage consumers to think more carefully about the origin of their beauty products. To create a more sustainable beauty industry that doesn’t harm the environment, animals or our health. They passionately promote the wellbeing message and inspire women to embrace their natural beauty. And we absolutely love this approach!
She started her research on ingredients to find out what was in the mainstream beauty market.
Mel Jenkinson, the founder of Glow Organic, is a professional and talented makeup artist, and a natural beauty advocate. She has worked in the film, fashion and bridal industries. With time she started to notice the effects due to a long-term use synthetic ingredients that are found in conventional makeup and skincare on her client’s skin. This included signs of premature ageing, skin sensitivities and common skin conditions like acne, rosacea and eczema. Noticing these changes, Mel was curious to find the answers. She started her research on ingredients to find out what was in the mainstream beauty products.
Mel’s findings helped her to identify a synthetic bouquet of ingredients that was contributing to common skin concerns like dry skin and blemishes. Moreover, she found that these products usually did not contain any beneficial properties. On top of that, the majority of the brands were still testing their products on animals!
Mel is also an adult acne sufferer. She started to witness skin improvement when she changed her diet. Switching to natural beauty and lifestyle also improved her mood and she found happiness within. She was so excited about the changes that she couldn’t wait to share them with the world. Mel’s discovery was an inspiration for Glow Organic. And what was started as a pop-up store in Brighton, is now a growing business of 3 years. Mel’s online store offers personally selected beauty products with sustainable ingredients, not tested on animals and come in environmentally friendly packaging!
We are wowed by Mel’s courage and persistence! It is definitely one of these independent businesses that you are proud to support, isn’t it? Furthermore, Mel’s story even hit the news in the UK and internationally.
You go, girl!
PS – Huge thank you to one of my favourite bloggers and acne coaches Amy Sounders. She introduced us to each other! Amy runs a blog which is focusing on acne. If acne is something you are battling with or you know someone who is, I highly recommend it!
