Natural or Conventional Skincare?
For those who know me, already know, that I tend to avoid Natural vs Synthetic conversations. Instead, I choose to focus on the goodness of natural ingredients and skin compatibility of a well formulated product.
There is plenty of information on why choosing naturals, the difference between natural and synthetic, mainstream and the potential skin, health, environmental concerns. My advise to you is always research well and use several sources to form your own critical opinion!
To me, if you eat well, look after yourself, choose organic, concerned about environmental toxins and have strong ethical values, it just makes sense to extend this to your beauty and personal care products.
When someone switches for the first time I always suggest to start slowly and have a plan. Instead of panic buying and throwing away all your current beauty arsenal. I find this very wasteful and unethical, however, I understand the urge.
A good starting point from me is a lip balm/lipstick and body moisturiser, these two are a great place to start.
WHY?
- you literally eat what is on your lips
- by switching your body moisturiser you will cover the largest % of your entire skin
If you are still confused, need more direction or tips, do let me know. I can do an ingredient decoding post for you!
Hope this serves you well x
