How To Use a Facial Oil?
Facial oils have become an increasingly popular addition to the skincare arsenal. I celebrate this, as more and more people are discovering the benefits of natural plant oils. However, this comes with a lot of miseducation, mistakes and wrongly chosen products. As well as poorly formulated products and a lot of greenwashing.
Before we dive into the tips on using facial oil and enjoy their benefits, I want to highlight the importance of choosing the right product for your skin needs. Some products may be too heavy, so can cause breakouts, others can be too heavily scented, so can be irritating to the sensitive skin, etc. If you have an opportunity to test the product, get a sample before you commit to a full-size product, use this opportunity. Everyone’s skin is different, and what works for someone might not work for you.
Also, so I strongly advise you to read your labels, ask questions and educate yourself. You might be thinking you are buying an oil serum of a precious rosehip and jojoba oil. Still, you might be getting a cheap mineral oil-based product with a fraction of natural ingredients inside in reality.
Let’s finally dive in!
Facial oil is usually applied as the last step in your skincare routine (SPF in the AM). They offer multiple benefits depending on the type of oil you choose. This includes essential fatty acid profile, vitamin and mineral boost for the skin. They also serve as an occlusive barrier, locking the hydration in. ⠀
